The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 Who taught by the pen - 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. 7 Surely! Unto your Lord is the return. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 Or enjoins Righteousness? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 No indeed; do thou not obey him, and bow thyself, and draw nigh. ۩ 19
