The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Recite thou in the name of thy Lord Who hath created 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 Have you considered if he were on the right way, 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 Then, let him call upon his council (of helpers), 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
