Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the chargers panting, 1 striking sparks of fire with their hooves, 2 And raiding at dawn 3 Then thereby raise dust, 4 And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse;- 5 Lo! man is an ingrate unto his Lord 6 And to that (fact) he bears witness (by his deeds); 7 And most surely he is tenacious in the love of wealth. 8 ۞ So does he not know? When those in the graves are raised, 9 And the hearts' contents shall be brought into the open? 10 That their Lord had been Well-acquainted with them, (even to) that Day? 11
