Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The emulous desire of abundance engrosseth you, 1 Until you visit the graveyards. 2 But nay, ye soon shall know (the reality). 3 Again, ye soon shall know! 4 Nay, would that ye knew (now) with a sure knowledge! 5 You will surely see the Hellfire. 6 In the end you will indeed, most surely, behold it with the eye of certainty: 7 Then on that Day you shall be questioned about your worldly favours. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
