Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Greed for more and more distracted you [from God] 1 Until you confronted the graves. 2 Nay! You shall come to know! 3 Again, ye soon shall know! 4 Indeed, were you to know the truth with certainty, 5 Ye shall certainly see Hell-Fire! 6 Then you shall most certainly see it with the eye of certainty; 7 Then, on that Day, you will be called to account for all the bounties you enjoyed. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
