Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Woe to every fault-finding backbiter; 1 Who has gathered wealth and counted it, 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the crushing torment. 4 And what have you understood what the Crushing One is! 5 It is the fire kindled by Allah, 6 Which leapeth up over the hearts (of men). 7 Verily, it shall be closed in on them, 8 in its long columns of flames. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
