The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Woe unto every slanderer, traducer, 1 Who amasseth wealth; and counteth it. 2 thinking his riches have made him immortal! 3 Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, 4 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Consuming One is! 5 A fire kindled by God, 6 The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts: 7 Indeed it will be shut over them. 8 In columns outstretched. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
