The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Alif-Lam-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 Bethink men that they shall be left alone because they say: we believe; and that they shall not be tempted? 2 Lo! We tested those who were before you. Thus Allah knoweth those who are sincere, and knoweth those who feign. 3 Or bethink those who work ill deeds that they shall outstrip Us? Ill do they judge! 4 Whoever hopes for the Meeting with Allah, then Allah's Term is surely coming. and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 5 And whosoever strive, striveth only for himself: verily Allah is Independent of the worlds. 6 As for those who believe and do good works, We shall acquit them of their sins, and recompense them with the best for what they were doing. 7 And upon man We ordained kindness towards parents; and if they strive to make you ascribe a partner with Me, about which you do not have any knowledge, then do not obey them; towards Me only is your return and I will tell you what you used to do. 8 And those who believe and work righteous works - We shall surely cause them to enter among the righteous. 9 Among people there are some who say: “We believe in Allah.” But when such a person is made to endure suffering in Allah's cause, he reckons the persecution he suffers at the hands of people as though it is a chastisement from Allah. But if victory comes from your Lord, the same person will say “We were with you.” Does Allah not know whatever is in the hearts of the people of the world? 10 And Allah most certainly knows those who believe, and as certainly those who are Hypocrites. 11 The unbelievers say to those who believe: 'Follow our path, and we will carry your sins' Yet they cannot carry even a thing of their sins. They are surely lying. 12 They will bear their own burdens, and (other) burdens along with their own, and on the Day of Judgments they will be called to account for their falsehoods. 13
