Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. 1 Who accumulated wealth and hoarded it, counting. 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him last forever! 3 Nay, but [in the life to come such as] he shall indeed be abandoned to crushing torment! 4 And what shall make thee know that which the Crushing Fire is? 5 (It is) the kindled Fire of Allah, 6 Which mounteth up to the hearts. 7 Indeed it will be shut over them. 8 in extended columns. 9

God the Almighty always says the truth.
