Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. 1 who amasses wealth and counts it over and again. 2 Does he think that his wealth will prolong his stay on earth forever? 3 Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, 4 Would that you knew what hutamah is! 5 The fire of Allah, that is ablaze. 6 Which will climb on to the hearts. 7 Indeed it will be shut over them. 8 In pillars stretched forth. 9

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
