The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Woe to every scorner and mocker 1 Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. 2 thinking his riches have made him immortal! 3 Nay, but [in the life to come such as] he shall indeed be abandoned to crushing torment! 4 and what shall teach thee what is the Crusher; 5 (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled, 6 Which mounts directed at the hearts. 7 It shall be made into a vault over them, 8 in its long columns of flames. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
