Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab (an uncle of the Prophet), and perish he! 1 No profit to him from all his wealth, and all his gains! 2 he shall roast at a flaming fire 3 And his wife [as well] - the carrier of firewood. 4 Will have a strap of fibre rope around her neck. 5

God the Almighty always says the truth.
