Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

The power of Abu Lahab will perish, and he will perish. 1 His wealth will not suffice him, neither what he has gained; 2 [In the life to come] he shall have to endure a fire fiercely glowing; 3 And his wife, the portress of fire wood, 4 Upon her neck a halter of strongly twisted rope. 5

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
