Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
All praise is to Allah, Who has created the heavens and the earth, and has created darkness and light; yet the disbelievers appoint equals (false deities) to their Lord! 1 It is He who created you from clay then determined a term (of life) for you, and a term (is fixed) with Him. Even then you doubt. 2 And He is Allah in the heavens and in the earth; He knows your secret (thoughts) and your open (words), and He knows what you earn. 3 Never came there unto them a revelation of the revelations of Allah but they did turn away from it. 4 and so they give the lie to this truth now that it has come unto them. In time, however, they will come to understand what it was that they were wont to deride. 5 See they not how many of those before them We did destroy?- generations We had established on the earth, in strength such as We have not given to you - for whom We poured out rain from the skies in abundance, and gave (fertile) streams flowing beneath their (feet): yet for their sins We destroyed them, and raised in their wake fresh generations (to succeed them). 6 And if We had sent to you a writing on a paper, then they had touched it with their hands, certainly those who disbelieve would have said: This is nothing but clear enchantment. 7 They say: "How is it no angel was sent down to him?" Had We sent an angel down the matter would have come to end, and they would have had no respite. 8 Were We to have made him (Our Messenger) an angel, We would have made him resemble a human being and they would have again complained that the matter was as confusing to them as it is to them now. 9 Messengers (of Allah) have been derided before thee, but that whereat they scoffed surrounded such of them as did deride. 10
