A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Alif Lam Mim Sad. 1 (This is the) Book (the Quran) sent down unto you (O Muhammad SAW), so let not your breast be narrow therefrom, that you warn thereby, and a reminder unto the believers. 2 "Follow what has been sent down unto you by your Sustainer, and follow no masters other than Him. How seldom do you keep this in mind! 3 And how many cities have We destroyed, and Our punishment came to them at night or while they were sleeping at noon. 4 And when Our Might fell upon them they only said: 'We have indeed been harmdoers' 5 Most certainly then We will question those to whom (the apostles) were sent, and most certainly We will also question the apostles; 6 Then surely, We shall narrate unto them (their whole story) with knowledge, and indeed We were not absent. 7 And on that Day, the weighing will truly be done; so those whose scales prove heavy are the successful. 8 And as for him whose measure (of good deeds) is light those are they who have made their souls suffer loss because they disbelieved in Our communications. 9 YEA, INDEED, [O men,] We have given you a [bountiful] place on earth, and appointed thereon means of livelihood for you: [yet] how seldom are you grateful! 10
