The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ They ask you concerning the spoils of war? Tell them: 'The spoils of war belong to Allah and the Messenger. So fear Allah, and set things right between you, and obey Allah and His Messenger if you are true believers. 1 Indeed the believers are those whose hearts quake at the mention of Allah, and when His verses are recited to them it increased them in faith. They are those who put their trust in their Lord. 2 Those who keep the prayer established and spend in Our cause from what We have bestowed upon them. 3 Such are the true believers. They have a high standing with their Lord, His forgiveness and an honourable provision made for them. 4 As it was your Lord who rightfully brought you forth from your house, even though some of the believers disliked it, 5 Disputing with you regarding the truth after it had been made clear, as if they were being herded towards a visible death. 6 And when Allah promised you one of the two parties that it shall be yours and you loved that the one not armed should he yours and Allah desired to manifest the truth of what was true by His words and to cut off the root of the unbelievers. 7 in order that He might verify the truth and annul the falsehood, even though the wrongdoers hated it. 8 When ye sought help of your Lord and He answered you (saying): I will help you with a thousand of the angels, rank on rank. 9 Allah meant this as glad tidings and that your hearts may be set at rest. For every help comes from Allah alone. Surely Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. 10
