Al-Anfaal 3 of 10
O you who believe! obey Allah and His Apostle and do not turn back from Him while you hear. 20 And be not like those who say: "We have heard," but they hear not. 21 ۞ The most wicked beasts in the sight of God are the deaf and the dumb who have no understanding. 22 If Allah had found in them any good. He would indeed have made them listen: (As it is), if He had made them listen, they would but have turned back and declined (Faith). 23 Believers, listen to God and the Messengers when they call you to that which gives you life. Know that God is between a man and his heart and that before Him you will all be brought together. 24 And fear a trial which shall surely not smite in particular the evildoers among you; and know that God is terrible in retribution. 25 Remember, when you were few and powerless in the land, afraid of despoliation at the hands of men. But then God sheltered and helped you to strength, and provided for you good things that you may perhaps be grateful. 26 O you who believe, do not be faithless to God and His Apostle, nor violate your trusts knowingly. 27 Know well that your belongings and your children are but a trial, and that with Allah there is a mighty reward. 28

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
