We gave the Book to Moses but people had different views about it. Had the Word of your Lord not been already ordained, He would have settled their differences (there and then). They are still in doubt about this. 110 Surely each one of them -- thy Lord will pay them in full for their works; He is aware of the things they do. 111 Therefore stand firm (in the straight Path) as thou art commanded,- thou and those who with thee turn (unto Allah); and transgress not (from the Path): for He seeth well all that ye do. 112 Do not incline toward those who do wrong, lest the Fire touch you. For [then] you would have none to protect you from God, and you will not be helped. 113 And be constant in praying at the beginning and the end of the day, as well as during the early watches of the night: for, verily, good deeds drive away evil deeds: this is a reminder to all who bear [God] in mind. 114 And have patience, (O Muhammad), for lo! Allah loseth not the wages of the good. 115 BUT, ALAS, among those generations [whom We destroyed] before your time there were no people endowed with any virtue - [people] who would speak out against the [spread of] corruption on earth - except the few of them whom We saved [because of their righteousness,] whereas those who were bent on evildoing only pursued pleasures which corrupted their whole being, and so lost themselves in sinning. 116 Your Lord would never destroy the villages unjustly, whilst their people were reforming. 117 And if your Lord had pleased He would certainly have made people a single nation, and they shall continue to differ. 118 Except him on whom your Lord has bestowed His Mercy (the follower of truth - Islamic Monotheism) and for that did He create them. And the Word of your Lord has been fulfilled (i.e. His Saying): "Surely, I shall fill Hell with jinns and men all together." 119 (Muhammad), We tell you all the stories of the Messengers which will strengthen your heart. In the Quran We have revealed the Truth to you with good advice and reminders for the faithful ones. 120 Say to the infidels. "Act as best you can, we are acting too; 121 and wait, we too are waiting." 122 And Allah's is the Invisible of the heavens and the earth, and unto Him the whole matter will be returned. So worship Him and put thy trust in Him. Lo! thy Lord is not unaware of what ye (mortals) do. 123
