Al-Hijjr 2 of 6
We have placed constellations in heaven and have beautified it for beholders, 16 And We have preserved it from every accursed devil, 17 But any that gains a hearing by stealth, is pursued by a flaming fire, bright (to see). 18 We stretched the earth and placed upon it firm stabilisers, and made all things grow upon it balanced evenly. 19 to provide you and those for whose sustenance you are not responsible, with the necessities of life. 20 There is not a thing but its storehouses are with Us. But We only send down each thing in an appropriate measure: 21 And We send the fecundating winds, then cause the rain to descend from the sky, therewith providing you with water (in abundance), though ye are not the guardians of its stores. 22 It is We who give life, and make to die, and it is We who are the inheritors. 23 And We have already known the preceding [generations] among you, and We have already known the later [ones to come]. 24 and, behold, it is thy Sustainer who will gather them all together [on Judgment Day]: verily, He is Wise, All-Knowing! 25

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
