And certainly We created man of clay that gives forth sound, of black mud fashioned in shape. 26 And the jinn We created before, of intensely hot fire. 27 But when your Lord said to the angels: "I am verily going to create a human being from fermented clay dried tingling hard; 28 When I have shaped him and ran My created soul in him fall down prostrating towards him'. 29 Therefore all the angels, each and every one of them, fell prostrate. 30 Except Iblis. He refused to bow with the adorers. 31 He said: O Iblis! what excuse have you that you are not with those who make obeisance? 32 Said he, 'I would never bow myself before a mortal whom Thou hast created of a clay of mud moulded.' 33 "Go hence, execrable," (said the Lord), "from this place, 34 And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgment. 35 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised." 36 Allah said: "Then, verily, you are of those reprieved, 37 till that Appointed Day." 38 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all. 39 except those of Your servants whom You have singled out for Yourself." 40 Allah said: this is the path leading unto Me straight. 41 over My worshipers you have no authority, except the perverse that follow you. 42 For whom the ordained place is surely Hell, 43 To it are seven gates: for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44
