At length when the messengers arrived among the adherents of Lut, 61 He said: "You are people I do not know." 62 They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing, 63 "Yet we bring to you the truth, and we are truthful. 64 Depart with your family in a part of the night and walk behind them and let none of you turn round. Go to a place where you are commanded' 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the root of those (sinners) was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 The people of the town rejoicingly 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 "And fear Allah and disgrace me not." 69 They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?" 70 Lot said, "These are my daughters if you want them." 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 Then the shout took hold of them at the sunrise. 73 And We turned the city upside down, and rained on them stones of hardened lava. 74 Indeed in this are signs for people who perceive. 75 it is still there on the highway -- 76 surely in that is a sign for believers. 77 And the companions of the thicket were [also] wrongdoers. 78 So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see. 79

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
