And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 He said: Surely you are an unknown people. 62 They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing, 63 and we have come to you with the truth, and surely we are truthful, 64 "Then travel in a part of the night with your family, and you go behind them in the rear, and let no one amongst you look back, but go on to where you are ordered." 65 And We communicated to him the decree that by the morning those people will be totally destroyed. 66 And there came the people of the city rejoicing 67 He said, 'These are my guests; put me not to shame, 68 "And fear Allah and disgrace me not." 69 They said, “Had we not forbidden you from meddling in the affairs of anyone?” 70 Lot said, "These are my daughters if you want them." 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 and thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at sunrise. 73 And We made the upside there of downwards, and We rained on them stones of baked clay. 74 Verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 75 Indeed, it is on a way which still exists. 76 Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. 77 Certainly the dwellers in the Thicket were evildoers, 78 So, We took vengeance on them. They are both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
