And remember Our bondman Ayyub (Job); when he cried out* to his Lord, “The devil has struck me with hardship and pain.” (After seven years of patience.) 41 Stamp the ground with thy foot, yonder is water to wash in, cool, and water to drink. 42 We restored his family to him, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder to all who are endowed with insight. 43 (We said to him): 'Take a bundle of rushes and strike with it; and do not break your oath' We found him to be patient, a good worshiper and he was penitent. 44 And remember Our bondmen Ibrahim, and Ishaq, and Yaqub – the men of power and knowledge. 45 We chose them for a special [purpose] -- proclaiming the message of the Hereafter: 46 In Our sight they are among the chosen and excellent ones. 47 And make mention of Ishmael and Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. All are of the chosen. 48 This is a commemoration. Surely for those who take heed for themselves is an excellent place of return -- 49 Gardens of perpetual residence, whose doors will be opened to them. 50 Therein will they recline (at ease): Therein can they call (at pleasure) for fruit in abundance, and (delicious) drink; 51 ۞ And with them will be virgins of refraining looks and of equal age. 52 Such is the Promise made, to you for the Day of Account! 53 Indeed this is Our sustenance, which will never end. 54 Yea, such! but - for the wrong-doers will be an evil place of (Final) Return!- 55 hell will they have to endure - and how vile a resting-place! 56 All this (is for them); so let them taste boiling water and pus, 57 And other torments of similar kind, all together! 58 Their leaders will be told, "This band will also be thrown headlong with you into hell." Their leaders will exclaim, "May condemnation fall upon them! Let them suffer the torment of fire". 59 They say, 'No, it is you have no Welcome; you forwarded it for us; how evil a stablishment!' 60 They say, “Our Lord! Whoever has brought this calamity upon us – double the punishment of the fire for him!” 61 They say, 'How is it with us, that we do not see men here that we counted among the wicked? 62 Was it that we (only) took them in scorn, or have our eyes (now) turned aside from them? 63 Such disputes will certainly take place among the dwellers of hell fire. 64
