People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 We gave them Our signs, but they turned away from them. 81 And they hewed houses in the mountains in security. 82 But they were seized by the mighty blast towards the morning; 83 that they earned did not avail them. 84 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them except with Truth. Surely the Hour will come. So, (O Muhammad), do graciously overlook them (despite their misdeeds). 85 For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things. 86 And indeed, We have bestowed upon you seven of Al-Mathani (the seven repeatedly recited Verses), (i.e. Surat Al-Fatiha) and the Grand Quran. 87 Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers 88 Say, "Indeed, I am simply one who warns." 89 (Of just such wrath) as We sent down on those who divided (Scripture into arbitrary parts),- 90 and who have broken the Scripture into fragments -- 91 Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, 92 About their deeds. 93 Therefore expound openly what thou art commanded, and turn away from those who join false gods with Allah. 94 For sufficient are We unto thee against those who scoff,- 95 Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know. 96 We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. 97 But you should glorify your Lord with praises, and be among those who bow in submission; 98 and worship your Lord until the last moment (of your life) that will most certainly come. 99
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr). Sent down in Mecca after Joseph (Yousuf) before Animals (Al-An 'aam)
