And verily, the dwellers of Al-Hijr (the rocky tract) denied the Messengers. 80 We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. 81 notwithstanding that they had been wont [to enjoy Our blessings and] to hew out dwellings from the mountains, [wherein they could live] in security 82 But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning, 83 All that they had acquired was of no avail to them. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated, and the mighty Koran. 87 Do not direct your eyes towards the things We have given to some of their couples to enjoy, and do not at all grieve because of them, and take the Muslims within the folds of your mercy. 88 And say: Surely I am the plain warner. 89 [For, thou art the bearer of a divine writ] such as We have bestowed from on high upon those who [afterwards] broke it up into parts, 90 Those who made the Quran into shreds. 91 By the Lord, We will hold them all responsible 92 For all that they used to do. 93 Therefore publicly announce what you are commanded, and turn away from the polytheists. 94 Surely We suffice to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 who set up another god with God, but they shall soon learn. 96 We do indeed know how your heart is distressed at what they say. 97 Therefore celebrate the praise of your Lord, and be of those who make obeisance. 98 And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death). 99
