۞ God says: "Do not take to two gods, for there is only one God. So fear Me." 51 And His is all that is in the heavens and on earth, and to Him [alone] obedience is always due: will you, then, pay reverence to aught but Him? 52 Whatsoever the blessings you enjoy are surely from God, and when in trouble you turn to Him in supplication. 53 yet as soon as He has removed the harm from you, lo! some of you [begin to] ascribe to other powers a share 'in their Sustainer's divinity 54 showing no gratitude for what We have given them. Enjoy yourselves awhile; but soon you will know! 55 They even appoint a share of what We have provided for them [to false gods] they know nothing of. You shall surely be questioned about the lies you have been fabricating. 56 They attribute daughters to God, the glorious, but for themselves whatsoever they please. 57 When any of them is told about the birth of a female his face turns dark, and he is filled with suppressed anger, 58 And hides from people for shame at the news, (at a loss) whether he should keep her with shame, or bury her in the ground. How bad is the judgement that they make! 59 The attribute of evil applies to those who do not believe in the Hereafter, while to God applies the highest attribute, for He is Mighty, the Wise. 60
