1/2 Hizb 30

۞ Tell them the parable of two men. We gave one two gardens of grapes surrounded by date-palm trees, with corn fields in between. 32 Each of the two gardens brought forth its produce and stinted not aught thereof; and We caused to gush forth in the midst of the twain a river. 33 And he had fruit, so he said to his companion while he was conversing with him, "I am greater than you in wealth and mightier in [numbers of] men." 34 And he entered his garden, wronging himself; he said, 'I do not think that this will ever perish; 35 “I do not think that the Last Day will ever be established and even if I return to my Lord I will surely find a haven better than this garden.” 36 His friend said to him, "How can you disbelieve in the One who turned clay into sperm out of which He created you? 37 As for myself, Allah alone is my Lord, and I associate none with my Lord in His Divinity. 38 Why, when thou wentest into thy garden, didst thou not say, "As God will; there is no power except in God"? If thou seest me, that I am less than thou in wealth and children, 39 Then belike my Lord will vouchsafe unto me something better than thy garden and send thereon a belt from the heaven that it become a plane slippery. 40 or its water may sink into the earth, so that you will never be able to find it again!" 41 So his fruits (and enjoyment) were encompassed (with ruin), and he remained twisting and turning his hands over what he had spent on his property, which had (now) tumbled to pieces to its very foundations, and he could only say, "Woe is me! Would I had never ascribed partners to my Lord and Cherisher!" 42 And there was for him no company to aid him other than Allah, nor could he defend himself. 43 The jurisdiction in this province belongs to God. His is the best reward, and His the best requital. 44
