Mary (Maryam)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Kaf Ha Ya Ain Sad 1 AN ACCOUNT of the grace which thy Sustainer bestowed upon His servant Zachariah: 2 when he called upon his Lord in low tones, saying, 3 He said, "My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has filled with white, and never have I been in my supplication to You, my Lord, unhappy. 4 And now I fear my kinsfolk after I am gone; and my wife is barren. So give me, from Thee, a kinsman 5 "Who shall inherit me, and inherit (also) the posterity of Ya'qub (Jacob) (inheritance of the religious knowledge and Prophethood, not the wealth, etc.). And make him, my Lord, one with whom You are Well-pleased!". 6 "Zachariah, We bring you good news of a son whose name shall be John. We have not given such a name to anyone before." 7 He submitted, “My Lord – how can I have a son whereas my wife is barren and I have reached infirmity due to old age?” 8 He said, "It will be so! Your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me for I created you when you were nothing before.'" 9 He said, “My Lord, give me a sign”; He said, “Your token is that you will not speak to people for three nights, although in proper health.” 10 Zachariah came out to his people from place of worship and inspired them to glorify the Lord both in the morning and evening. 11 [Allah] said, "O John, take the Scripture with determination." And We gave him judgement [while yet] a boy 12 And piety (for all creatures) as from Us, and purity: He was devout, 13 and cherishing his parents, not arrogant, rebellious. 14 Peace be upon him the day he was born, and the day he will die, and the day he will be raised up alive. 15
