And mention in the Book [the story of] Abraham. Indeed, he was a man of truth and a prophet. 41 Recall what time he said unto his father: O my father! wherefore worshippest thou that which heareth not and seeth not, nor availeth thee at all? 42 Father, knowledge has come to me which has not come you, therefore, follow me. I will guide you to a Level Path. 43 “O my father, do not be a bondman of the devil; indeed the devil is disobedient towards the Most Gracious.” 44 Father, indeed I fear lest a punishment from the Gracious One afflict you, and you become a friend of Satan." 45 He said: "Are you averse to my gods, O Abraham? If you do not desist, I shall have you stoned to death. So go away for a while from me." 46 He said, “Stop it – peace be upon you; I shall seek forgiveness for you from my Lord; indeed He is very kind to me.” 47 And I renounce you and that unto which ye call beside Allah; and I shall call unto my Lord; belike in calling unto my Lord I shall not be unblest. 48 So when he had left them and those they worshipped other than Allah, We gave him Isaac and Jacob, and each [of them] We made a prophet. 49 and We gave them of Our Mercy and We appointed to them a truthful, highly sincere tongue, 50
