T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 We have not sent down to you the Qur'an that you be distressed 2 but only as a reminder to him who tears, 3 A revelation from He who created the earth and highest heavens, 4 the Most Gracious, established on the throne of His almightiness? 5 His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth and what is between them two and what is beneath the ground. 6 If thou pronounce the word aloud, (it is no matter): for verily He knoweth what is secret and what is yet more hidden. 7 God is the only Lord and to Him belong all the exalted Names. 8 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa? 9 When he saw a fire, and said to his family, 'Tarry you here; I observe a fire. Perhaps I shall bring you a brand from it, or I shall find at the fire guidance.' 10 When he came to it, a voice cried, 'Moses, 11 "Verily I am thy Lord! therefore (in My presence) put off thy shoes: thou art in the sacred valley Tuwa. 12 And I! I have chosen thee, hearken thou then to that which shall be revealed. 13 Surely I am Allah, there is no god but I, therefore serve Me and keep up prayer for My remembrance: 14 "Verily the Hour is coming - My design is to keep it hidden - for every soul to receive its reward by the measure of its Endeavour. 15 So let not him who believeth not therein and followeth his own desire keep thee away therefrom lest thou perish. 16 And what is that in thy right hand, O Musa! 17 He replied, "It is my staff. I lean on it, and with it, I beat down the leaves for my flock; I also have other uses for it." 18 He said: 'Moses, cast it down' 19 He cast it down, and behold! It was a snake, moving quickly. 20 Then He said: "Seize it and have no fear. We shall restore it to its former state. 21 And thrust thy hand within thine armpit, it will come forth white without hurt. (That will be) another token. 22 So We would show thee some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed." 24
