(Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my breast; 25 And ease for me my task 26 "And make loose the knot (the defect) from my tongue, (i.e. remove the incorrectness from my speech) [That occurred as a result of a brand of fire which Musa (Moses) put in his mouth when he was an infant]. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 16, Page 159]. 27 that they may understand my words. 28 Appoint for me of my folk a familiar, 29 “That is Haroon, my brother.” 30 "Add to my strength through him, 31 "And let him share my task (of conveying Allah's Message and Prophethood), 32 so that we exalt You 33 And much remember Thee. 34 Surely Thou seest into us.' 35 Said He, 'Thou art granted, Moses, thy petition. 36 We have again bestowed Our favour upon you. 37 When we inspired in thy mother that which is inspired, 38 to lace her child in a chest and throw it into the sea which would hurl it towards the shore. Then an enemy of Mine who was also the enemy of the child would pick it up from there. I made you attractive and loveable so that you would be reared before My own eyes. 39 when thy sister went out, saying, "Shall I point you to one to have charge of him?" So We returned thee to thy mother that she might rejoice, and not sorrow. Then thou slewest; a living soul, and We delivered thee out of grief, and We tried thee with many trials. Many years among the people of Midian thou didst sojourn, then camest hither, Moses, according to a decree. 40 And I produced you for Myself. 41 Go thou and thy brother with My signs, and slacken not in remembrance of Mine. 42 Go both to Firon, surely he has become inordinate; 43 Then say to him a gentle saying; haply he may be admonished or he may fear. 44 'O our Lord,' said Moses and Aaron, 'truly we fear he may exceed against us, or wax insolent.' 45 He said: Fear not. Lo! I am with you twain, Hearing and Seeing. 46 So go to him and say: 'The two of us have indeed been sent by your Lord. So let the children of Israel come with us, and do not oppress them. We have come to you with a token from your Lord. Peace on him who follows the way of guidance. 47 "'Verily it has been revealed to us that the Penalty (awaits) those who reject and turn away.'" 48 (Firon) said: And who is your Lord, O Musa? 49 (Moses) said: "Our Lord is He who gave everything its natural form and directed it." 50 He said: Then what is the state of the former generations? 51 Musa said: the knowledge thereof is with my Lord in the Book; my Lord erreth not, nor He forgetteth. 52 Who has made earth for you like a bed (spread out); and has opened roads (ways and paths etc.) for you therein; and has sent down water (rain) from the sky. And We have brought forth with it various kinds of vegetation. 53 So eat yourself and pasture your cattle. Surely there are many Signs in this for people of understanding. 54
