The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The believers must (eventually) win through,- 1 Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 2 who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous; 3 And those who pay the Zakat. 4 and restrain their carnal desires 5 except with their wives and what their right hand possess, and then they are not blamed. 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. 8 And those who are watchful of their acts of prayer. 9 These are they who are the heirs, 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 We created man from an essence of clay, 12 Then made him a drop of fluid in a secure shelter. 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 Then indeed, after that you are to die. 15 Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 And We sent down water from the sky in proper measure, then stored it in the earth; and indeed We are Able to take it away! 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that grows oil, and (it is a) relish for the eaters. 20 And most surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We make you to drink of what is in their bellies, and you have in them many advantages and of them you eat, 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22
