The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 And who are payers of the poor-due; 4 And who guard their private parts, 5 except with their wives and what their right hand possess, and then they are not blamed. 6 Those who desire to go beyond such limits they commit transgression, 7 And those who keep proper regard for their trusts and their pledges. 8 to their promise, 9 These! they are the inheritors. 10 These are the heirs of Paradise wherein they will live forever. 11 We created man from an essence of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Then after that, certainly all of you are to die. 15 and you will be brought back to life again on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat. 20 And surely in the cattle there is a lesson for you; We give you to drink of what is in their bellies, and many uses there are in them for you, and of them you eat; 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22
