The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers, 1 Those who humble themselves in their prayers; 2 And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden). 3 And they who are observant of zakah 4 those who safeguard their chastity 5 Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy, 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; 7 Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants; 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 These! they are the inheritors. 10 Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall dwell therein forever. 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Then after that you shall surely die, 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 And We sent down water from the sky in proper measure, then stored it in the earth; and indeed We are Able to take it away! 18 Then through water We caused gardens of date-palms and vines to grow for you wherein you have an abundance of delicious fruits and from them you derive your livelihood. 19 And a tree that springeth forth from Mount Sinai that groweth oil and relish for the eaters. 20 And surely in the cattle there is a lesson for you; We give you to drink of what is in their bellies, and many uses there are in them for you, and of them you eat; 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22
