The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers; 1 who in their prayers are humble 2 Who shun all frivolities, 3 pay their religious tax 4 And who guard their private parts, 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 whereas such as seek to go beyond that [limit] are truly transgressors; 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 and who guard their Prayers. 9 They are the inheritors. 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 Then made him a drop of fluid in a secure shelter. 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 after this you shall surely die. 15 and then on the Day of Resurrection you shall certainly be raised up. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, 18 And We brought forth for you thereby gardens of palm trees and grapevines in which for you are abundant fruits and from which you eat. 19 And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat. 20 And indeed there is also a lesson for you in cattle. We provide you with drink out of what they have in their bellies; and you have many other benefits in them: you eat of them, 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22
