The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Blissful are the believers 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 And those who from everything vain turn away. 3 who observe Zakah; 4 and restrain their carnal desires 5 Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable, 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive 8 And who (strictly) guard their prayers;- 9 Such are the inheritors 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Then after that you will most surely die. 15 Then (again), surely, you will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palm and vines; for you therein are fruits many, and thereof ye eat. 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 There is a lesson for you concerning cattle. We provide you with drink from their bellies and many other benefits. You can consume them as meat. 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22
