The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Successful indeed are the believers 1 Those who in their prayer are lowly. 2 And they who turn away from ill speech 3 who give charity, 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; 7 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 Then indeed, after that you are to die. 15 Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away. 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat. 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 And indeed there is also a lesson for you in cattle. We provide you with drink out of what they have in their bellies; and you have many other benefits in them: you eat of them, 21 and by them - as by the ships [over the sea] - you are borne [overland]. 22
