The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 2 And who do not incline towards indecent matters. 3 And who are givers of poor-rate, 4 and restrain their carnal desires 5 except with their wives and what their right hand possess, and then they are not blamed. 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 They are the inheritors. 10 that shall inherit Paradise; and in it they shall abide for ever. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository. 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 After that you shall surely die, 15 Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation. 17 And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it. 18 We grow orchards of dates and grapes from it for you, Which yield fruits in abundance that you eat. 19 Also a tree springing out of Mount Sinai, which produces oil, and relish for those who use it for food. 20 You have a lesson in livestock. We provide you with drink from what is in their bellies, and you have many other benefits from them; some of them you eat, 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
