The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Those who in their prayer are lowly. 2 And those who from everything vain turn away. 3 and at almsgiving are active 4 those who safeguard their chastity 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; 7 Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants; 8 and who guard their Prayers. 9 These! they are the inheritors. 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay); 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 Then surely on the day of resurrection you shall be raised. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 also a tree growing on Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat it. 20 And surely in the cattle there is a lesson for you; We give you to drink of what is in their bellies, and many uses there are in them for you, and of them you eat; 21 And on them, and on ships you are carried. 22
