Messengers! Eat of that which is good and do good deeds; I have knowledge of the things you do. 51 This community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so hold Me alone in fear. 52 Yet they divided themselves into factions, each rejoicing in what they had. 53 But leave them alone, lost in their ignorance, until a [future] time. 54 Do they fancy that Our continuing to give them wealth and children (means) that 55 We hasten unto them with good things? Nay, but they perceive not. 56 Only those who are, out of fear of Him, humble before their Lord, 57 Who believe in their Lord's revelations, 58 And those who with their Lord associate not anyone. 59 who give what they give, with their hearts quaking, that they will return to their Lord: 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works and shall be the foremost in doing so. 61 We do not burden a soul beyond capacity, for We have a record that tells the truth. No wrong will be done to any one. 62 Aye! their hearts are in bewilderment in respect thereof, and they have works beside that, of which they are workers. 63 Until, when We grasp those of them who lead a luxurious life with punishment, behold! They make humble invocation with a loud voice. 64 (It will be said): "Groan not in supplication this day: for ye shall certainly not be helped by Us. 65 My Signs were rehearsed to you and you turned back on your heels and took to flight, 66 Insolently, treating them like tales told at night." 67 Was it that you did not give any thought to it (the Quran)? Was it different from what was revealed to your fathers? 68 Or do they not recognise their Messenger, that they deny him? 69 Or, say they: in him is madness? O Aye he brought them the truth, and most of them to the truth are averse. 70 And had the Truth followed their desires, then indeed the heavens and the earth and all those who are in them would be destroyed; in fact We brought to them a thing in which lay their repute, so they are turned away from their own repute. 71 Are you asking them for something? What Allah has given you is the best. He is the Best of providers. 72 You are surely calling them to the right path. 73 And verily, those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed deviating far astray from the Path (true religion Islamic Monotheism). 74 ۞ And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 And indeed, We tested them through suffering, but they did not abase themselves before their Sustainer; and they will never humble themselves 76 until We opened upon them the door of a severe chastisement. Then lo, in this state they become utterly despaired of any good. 77
