Pray, “My Lord! If You show me the promise they are given,” 93 do not, O my Sustainer, let me be one of those evildoing folk!" 94 Surely We are able to show you what We warn them against. 95 Repel evil with that which is better. We know that which they describe. 96 And submit, “My Lord! I seek Your refuge from the instigation of the devils.” 97 And I seek refuge with Thee, my Lord! lest they may be present with me. 98 [AS FOR THOSE who will not believe in the life to come, they go on lying to themselves] until, when death approaches any of them, he prays: "O my Sustainer! Let me return, let me return [to life,] 99 so that perhaps I shall act righteously for the rest of my life." Although he will say so but his wish will never come true. After death they will be behind a barrier until the day of their resurrection. 100 When the trumpet is blown, on that Day there will be no ties of relationship between them; neither will they ask about one another: 101 And they whose weight [of righteousness] is heavy in the balance - it is they, they who will have attained to a happy state; 102 But those whose scales weigh light will have ruined their souls; in Hell will they abide. 103 the fire will scorch their faces, and they will abide therein with their lips distorted in pain. 104 Were not My messages recited to you and did you not reject them? 105 They will say, “Our Lord! Our ill-fate overcame us, and we were the astray people.” 106 O our Sustainer! Cause us to come out of this [suffering] - and then, if ever We revert [to sinning,] may we truly be [deemed] evildoers!" 107 He will say: "Remain condemned in it, and do not speak to Me. 108 Lo! there was a party of My slaves who said: Our Lord! We believe, therefor forgive us and have mercy on us for Thou art Best of all who show mercy; 109 "But ye treated them with ridicule, so much so that (ridicule of) them made you forget My Message while ye were laughing at them! 110 On this day I have given them their reward for their exercising patience and it is they who have triumphed." 111 He will say: How long tarried ye in the earth, counting by years? 112 They will say: We tarried by a day or part of a day. Ask of those who keep count! 113 He will say: 'You have tarried a little, did you know? 114 What! did you then think that We had created you in vain and that you shall not be returned to Us? 115 Exalted then be God, the King, the Real. There is no god but He, the Lord of the glorious throne. 116 Whoever worships another god apart from God, for which he holds no proof, will have to account for it before his Lord. Verily the unbelievers will not prosper. 117 And say thou: my Lord! forgive and have mercy, and Thou art the Best of the merciful ones. 118
