[Musa (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness). 25 and make my task easy for me, 26 "And make loose the knot (the defect) from my tongue, (i.e. remove the incorrectness from my speech) [That occurred as a result of a brand of fire which Musa (Moses) put in his mouth when he was an infant]. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 16, Page 159]. 27 so that they may understand my speech; 28 And give me as assistant from my family 29 "Aaron, my brother; 30 To strengthen me 31 and let him share my task 32 That we may sing Your praises much, 33 and may remember You much. 34 “Indeed You see us.” 35 God said, "You have been granted your request, Moses." 36 And certainly We bestowed on you a favor at another time; 37 When We revealed to your mother what was revealed; 38 saying: "Put him in the box and cast it into the river. The river will cast him on to the bank, and he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his." I lavished My Love on you, and to be formed in My Sight. 39 Your sister went (to them) and said: 'Shall I guide you to one who will nurse him' And so We restored you to your mother, so that her eyes might rejoice and that she might not sorrow. And when you killed a soul We saved you from grief and then We tried you with many trials. You stayed among the people of Midian for a number of years, and then, Moses, you came here according to a decree. 40 “And I created you especially for Myself.” 41 go therefore, thou and thy brother; with My signs, and neglect not to remember Me. 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has waxed insolent; 43 And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]." 44 They (Moses and Aaron) said: "Our Lord! We fear lest he hasten with insolence against us, or lest he transgress all bounds." 45 He (Allah) said: "Fear not, verily! I am with you both, hearing and seeing. 46 "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! 47 Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.' " 48 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Who then, O Musa (Moses), is the Lord of you two?" 49 He replied: "Our Sustainer is He who gives unto every thing [that exists] its true nature and form, and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment]. 50 Said [Pharaoh]: "And what of all the past generations?" 51 [Musa (Moses)] said: "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord, in a Record. My Lord is neither unaware nor He forgets, " 52 The One Who has made the earth a bed for you and kept operative roads for you in it and sent down water from the sky; so with it We produced different pairs of vegetation. 53 Eat [therefrom] and pasture your livestock. Indeed, in that are signs for those of intelligence. 54
