▼ 25 The Statute Book
Al-Furqaan 3 of 6
۞ And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?" They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and [become] insolent with great insolence. 21 [Yet] on that Day - the Day on which they shall see the angels there will be no glad tiding for those who were lost in sin; and they will exclaim, "By a forbidding ban [are we from God's grace debarred]!" 22 We shall advance upon what work they have done, and make it a scattered dust. 23 The dwellers of Paradise (i.e. those who deserved it through their Faith and righteousness) will, on that Day, have the best abode, and have the fairest of places for repose. 24 And [mention] the Day when the heaven will split open with [emerging] clouds, and the angels will be sent down in successive descent. 25 the true Kingdom on that Day shall belong to the Merciful a harsh day for the unbelievers. 26 The unjust man will bite at his hand and say, "Would that I had stood by the Messenger! 27 "Ah! woe is me! Would that I had never taken such a one for a friend! 28 “He indeed led me astray from the advice that had come to me”; and Satan deserts man, leaving him unaided. 29 Then the Messenger will say: "O my Lord! Truly my people took this Qur'an for just foolish nonsense." 30 And even so We appointed unto every prophet an enemy from among the culprits. And thine Lord sufficeth as Guide and Helper. 31 The unbelievers say, 'Why has the Koran not been sent down upon him all at once?' Even so, that We may strengthen thy heart thereby, and We have chanted it very distinctly. 32 And they bring thee no similitude but We bring thee the Truth (as against it), and better (than their similitude) as argument. 33 Those who will be gathered to Hell (prone) on their faces,- they will be in an evil plight, and, as to Path, most astray. 34

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
