And when thy Lord called to Moses, 'Go to the people of the evildoers, 10 the nation of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Me' 11 He said: "My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will belie me, 12 My breast is constricted and my tongue is not fluent, so endow Messengership on Aaron. 13 And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they shall slay me. 14 Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call). 15 So go ye twain unto Fir'awn and say: verily we are the apostles of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 "'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'" 17 He (Pharaoh) said (to Moses): 'Did We not bring you up when you were a child? And have you not spent years of your life amongst us? 18 and you did the deed which you did. You are certainly ungrateful." 19 Musa (Moses) said: "I did it then, when I was an ignorant (as regards my Lord and His Message). 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord bestowed on me wisdom and made me one of the sent ones. 21 And that favour wherewith thou didst oblige me was that thou hadst enslaved the Children of Isra'il? 22 Pharaoh said: 'And what is the Lord of the Worlds' 23 [Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced." 24 Said he to those about him, 'Do you not hear?' 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients.' 26 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Verily, your Messenger who has been sent to you is a madman!" 27 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the east and the west, and all that is between them, if you did but understand!" 28 Pharaoh said: "If you take any god other than me, I will certainly make you one of those (who are rotting) in prison." 29 Said Moosa, “Even if I bring to you something clear?” 30 (Pharaoh) said: "Show it then, if thou tellest the truth!" 31 So (Moses) cast his staff, and lo, it turned into a living serpent. 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
