And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They said, 'We serve idols, and continue cleaving to them. 71 He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 you and your forefathers -- 76 Surely they are enemies to me, but not (so) the Lord of the worlds; 77 “The One Who created me, so He will guide me.” 78 and Himself gives me to eat and drink, 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 And He Who shall cause me to die, and then shall quicken me. 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 and appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the others. 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure. 85 And forgive my father; verily he is of the erring. 86 Do not betray me 87 The day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail 88 and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." 89 And the garden shall be brought near for those who guard (against evil), 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 Beside Allah? Can they succour you or succour themselves? 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 And all the armies of Iblis. (Satan) 95 And they will say, and they will be quarrelling in it: 96 “By oath of Allah, we were indeed in open error.” 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Universe. 98 It is none but those steeped in guilt who led us into this error, 99 We have no one to intercede for us before God 100 And not a devoted friend. 101 (Alas!) If we only had a chance to return (to the world), we shall truly be among the believers! 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 Surely, Your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
