And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They said, 'We serve idols, and continue cleaving to them. 71 He said: Do they hear you when ye cry? 72 Or, benefit they you or hurt they you? 73 They said: nay; but we found our fathers doing in this wise. 74 Abraham said, "Have you really thought about what you have been worshipping, 75 You and your fathers? 76 Verily they are an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the worlds. 77 Who created me and Who guides me; 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 “And when I fall ill, so it is He Who heals me.” 80 And He Who will cause me to die, then give me life; 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous; 83 And ordain for me a goodly mention among posterity 84 And make me of the heirs of the garden of bliss 85 And forgive my father. Lo! he is of those who err. 86 And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected; 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 "But only he (will prosper) that brings to Allah a sound heart; 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 and the Fire will be uncovered for those who strayed, 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 “Instead of Allah? Will they help you or retaliate?” 93 The idol worshippers, the idols, the rebellious ones, 94 And the soldiers of Iblees, all together. 95 And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein: 96 By Allah, of a truth we were in error manifest 97 When we made you equal to the Lord of the worlds; 98 It was the evildoers who led us astray, 99 "'Now, then, we have none to intercede (for us), 100 And not a devoted friend. 101 Would that we might return again, and be among the believers' 102 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104
