The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 "My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do." 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 175
