The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
