The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 "Must you, of all people, [lustfully] approach men, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!" 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 We saved him and all of his family 170 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
