The people of Lut rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you approach males among the worlds 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!" 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 and rained down upon them a rain [of destruction]: and dire is such rain upon all who let themselves be warned [to no avail]! 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
